Fusion & Solid-State Welding

High-Quality Industrial Welding With Minimal Downtime

IA Mechanical provides several services for different aspects of plants and facilities. We offer welding services to ensure all components are made properly and fit properly. IA Mechanical prioritizes quick and high-quality welding services for all clients while making sure downtime and cost are minimized. We recognize the importance of minimal downtime because we know that time means money.

Experienced Welders

At IA Mechanical, we have a team of experienced welders to complete tasks on the job. Welding is used to combining metals using a technique called fusion. Using heat, pressure, and several specialized tools, this process can assist in many different jobs. There are two main types of welding: fusion and solid-state. Fusion welding uses an added filler piece to fuse two pieces of metal; whereas, solid-state welding doesn’t require a filler piece, rather, it simply joins the two pieces of metal together with heat and tools.

It’s important to have a highly trained team to complete the many different welding processes given the complexity and potential safety concerns. All our welders at IA Mechanical are trained to the highest standard in the practice, as well as in safety procedures to ensure everyone involved and near is safe.

Within welding, there are several subsections such are: gas welding, resistance welding, arc welding, newer welding, and solid-state welding. Every different type of welding is used for different purposes. The main welding processes we offer are described below. These are only a few of the many processes that welders complete, all for different purposes.

  • Shielded Metal Arc Welding (SMAW)

    • In this method, an arc between a covered electrode and the welding pool creates a weld.
  • Oxy-Acetylene Welding (OA)

    • This method is used for heating heavy stock for bending and soft soldering – it is a forgivable process that is ideal for beginners.
  • Tungsten Inert Gas Welding (TIG)

    • In this method, a no consumable tungsten electrode is used with the material to be welded.
  • Gas Metal Arc Welding (MIG)

    • In this method, a metal rod is used as an electrode while the piece being welded is used as the other electrode. This process uses the high heat of an electric arc.
