FGD Stack Inspections & Repairs
As stricter environmental regulations are enacted, Flue-gas desulfurization (FGD) becomes necessary, not only for green-thinking companies but also to meet the high pollution standards that change frequently.
Wet, Spray Dry, and Dry Scrubbers are all control devices that take Sulfur Dioxide (SO2) emissions and produce a solid compound. Industrial Access, Inc., can provide installation and repair service for all FGD Scrubber Stack and Chimney components.
Gas Desulfurization – FGD Scrubber Systems
Gas Desulfurization involves the treatment of flue gas from coal fired power plants, stationary coal- and oil-fired combustion units, as well as waste incinerators, cement and lime kilns, metal smelters, petroleum refineries, and glass furnaces. SO2 scrubbers can be applied to combustion units firing coal and oil ranging in size from 5 MW to over 1,500 MW, while dry scrubbers and spray scrubbers are generally applied to units of less than 300 MW.
The processes used vary depending on the amount of SO2 involved, the solution being used to absorb the SO2, and the particular equipment used in the absorption tower.
FGD Scrubber Repair
The operating conditions within a scrubber and the accompanying installations are very severe and cause corrosion problems for common engineering materials. Whether your facility needs a new installation of an FGD scrubber system to meet federal standards or an inspection or repair of current FGD Scrubber Stack components, you can count on Industrial Access to meet your needs.
Our team of highly experienced project engineers will customize a plan to construct or repair air pollution controls utilizing our proven rope access, high angle methods. Our goal is to minimize downtime, maximize work efficiency, and keep everyone safe on the job site. Contact Industrial Access, Inc., today to find out more about our Flue Gas Desulfurization services.
