How often should our industrial chimneys and smokestacks get inspections?

Visual or binocular inpections should occur between 6 & 24 months. Full interior and exterior inspections should be performed on industrial chimneys every two years.

Do metal stacks need to be inspected as well?

Yes, metal stacks should be inspected just like industrial chimneys. Metal stacks can wear thin, potentially causing a catastrophy at your facility?

If a problem is found in our chimney or smokestack during the inspection, can you address the problem immediately?

Yes, the Industrial Access Team comes prepared to address any urgent issues during the chimney/stack inspection with consent of the plant contact.

How long does it take to get the written inspection report?

We normally will have a full written report back to our plant representative within 10-14 business days. Our written report is anywhere from 30- 45 pages depending on the number of chimneys or stacks being inspected.

Can you do exterior work on a stack while the stack is running?

Yes, most repairs on the exterior of industrial chimneys and smokestacks can be repaired during normal plant operating hours. However, there are some repairs that require the stack to be inactive.

Is the build up inside the stack or chimney harmful to the environment when cleaned?

No, build-up in the interior of chimneys and stacks is normally environmentally safe. Salt cake is the most common sediment accumulation which can be washed and drained into the plants drainage system.

Can you inspect our industrial chimney stack in one day?

Typically it takes two days to perform a thorough chimney inspection. Industrial Access by Chimney Solutions takes pride in our detailed chimney inspection reports, therefore, we take the time to do it right the first time. Set up on chimneys and smokestacks takes approximately one full day followed by one full of inspection. These times vary depending on the height and diameter of the stack.
